MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL IN MIDDLETON CHENEY PRIMARY ACADEMY

FROM MIDDLETON CHENEY PRIMARY ACADEMY NEWSLETTER

MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL At this year’s Festival we had visitors from a school in Poland. They were very honoured to have crowned our King and Queen and were very impressed by the children’s dancing. They thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, we hope you did too. We were also joined by some children from Chipping Warden Primary Academy who are part of our Multi Academy Trust who performed a traditional polish dance with our visitors. We would like to thank all the teachers, teaching assistants and most of all the children for working so hard to perfect their moves. A big thank you to our Parents’ Association and to all those who donated cakes and flowers and spared their time to help set up.

JOB SHADOWING EXPERIENCE by Barbara Kijanka

Visiting the three Primary Academies in  England was an unusual experience. We had so many opportunities to watch teachers’  and pupils’ work and gather ideas which, I believe, can be transferred to our school.
Each school, Middleton Cheney Primary Academy, Chipping Warden Primary Academy and King`s Sutton Primary Academy, is an institution with history and message. The teachers focus not only on equipping young minds with knowledge but especially with rules and values which will help their pupils become good people, i.e. friendship, self-belief, motivation, creativity, communication, just to mention a few. As visitors we could observe the effects of this attitude by looking for example at unusual art projects and teachers’ attitude towards their students which was full of understanding and friendliness.
The week passed very quickly but we had also many opportunities to experience different aspects of British culture, be it visiting Oxford, British Motor Museum  (with unusual cars), Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare birthplace), “meeting” with Tolkien and many others.
The things which we are definitely going to make use of are some teaching ideas that English teachers use during their classes to make them interesting and flowing.
Barbara Kijanka

JOB SHADOWING IN SOUTH NORTHAMPTONSHIRE VILLAGE SCHOOLS MULTI ACADEMY TRUST

Od 25 do 30 czerwca panie Małgorzata Banicka, Barbara Kijanka i Małgorzata Łupicka odbywały "job shadowing " w trzech angielskich szkołach podstawowych, które tworzą Akademię.Były to Middleton Cheney Primary Academy, Chipping Warden Primary Academy i King`s Sutton Primary Academy. Podczas wizyty w trzech placówkach panie obserwowały pracę angielskich nauczycieli, szukały pomysłów, nowych metod i inspiracji. Poznawały inny niż w Polsce system edukacji, sposoby radzenia sobie z problemami, a także prezentowały uczniom, nauczycielom i rodzicom polską kulturę i legendy. Wszędzie były ciepło i serdecznie przyjmowane.

AKADEMIE

  ACADEMIES

Since 2010, many primary schools have been turned into Academies and the government has ruled that all newly opening schools must be academies. Academies have a sponsor from business, faith or voluntary groups who contributes part of the costs but the remainder, and the running costs, are provided directly by the government. Academy Schools are independent of the local authority and the sponsor appoints the majority of the governing body. All are expected to follow a broad and balanced curriculum. Free schools can set their own pay and conditions for staff, change the length of school terms and the school day. They are monitored directly by the Department for Education.
